Biodegradable film to the rescue!
An accidental invention can help save the earth! When experimenting with dyes and scents to develop a more effective fishing lure, Patrick Riley noticed that some of the lures began to degrade. Patrick then worked with Sinclair, and ECM Biofilms was born. Together, they developed an additive that can be added to plastic bag films, water bottles and other plastic products that the microorganisms that live in land fills feed on. These biodegradable plastics will not begin to degrade until they are placed in land fills, at which time they can begin to biodegrade in as little as 9 months!
